Products I’m Lovin’

I’ve compiled this list of beauty and health products that I swear by and must share with you! I’ve been using these products for years and have literally bought each of these products for at least two other friends. I put my money where my mouth is. Besides, all work and no play make me a dull girl so let’s get to the fun stuff.

What I’m Lovin’

1. That’s 18 inches all me. I take three a day and notice a difference after only 4 to 6 weeks.  Get them here.

2. I only take these every couple years so it’s nice that these vitamins don’t have to become a permanent part of your daily health routine.

*MY TIP* – Take these vitamins with a meal as there is a lot of Vitamin C in each dose which can be irritating to the stomach.

What I’m Lovin’…Not So Much

The pills are pretty big which can be annoying to swallow.

acne face wash

In high school and college, I never had any issues with facial blemishes. In fact, I didn’t start wearing foundation until after I graduated and got my first official Corp gig. The job was a blessing but the byproduct of work-related stress, aka acne, not so much. It went from a blemish here and there to ‘this can’t be happening’! I tried every acne soap and brand. Rinses, foams, masks, scrubs, bar soaps, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, Neutrogena, Clearasil, Cerave, Clean and Clear, Cetaphil, prescription cleansers, drinking more water, and even bought a $150 Clarisonic! But I kept getting the same result every time. The product would work great for the first few uses but then my skin would revert back to its old ways. Then finally I found the perfect acne face wash or as I like to call it, Heaven in a Bar. I literally wash my face with this soap 1-2x/day and follow with a few drops of my favorite Vitamin C serum and that’s it. (Anyone need a Clarosonic?)

What I’m Lovin’

1. I’m loving the results! I felt the difference after the very first wash. Then my skin cleared up completely in about two weeks. I’m not kidding.

2. It also works great in combating symptoms related to skin conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, and psoriasis. Learn more about Zinc.

3. The bar produces a good lather and lasts a long time.

4. The bar is totally affordable! I’m talking $7 people! Pick it up here.

*MY TIP* – Lather on your face gently, no rubbing needed, and leave on for 30 seconds before gently rinsing off. Rubbing the skin can cause irritation. Just let the soap lather, sit, then rinse.

What I’m Lovin’…Not So Much

It’s recommended to wash your face 2x/day. However, if done consistently with this soap, I found it can be drying. Start using this soap every other day and then work your way up to 1-2x/day. Don’t push it if your skin can’t handle it.

vitamin c serum

Me to Myself: (Looking In the mirror in the bathroom at work) Waaaitttt a second. Did I remember to put on my face powder this morning?? Omgosh I forgot!

You know those corny commercials that say, “your face will be noticeably brighter and smooth’? Welp, my face was so bright that morning that I forgot to put on makeup! Truuuuth. So I officially no longer wear foundation to work on weekdays. That’s right folks, I’m officially a make-up-on-weekends-only gal.

What I’m Lovin’

1. A little goes a long way. Just 2 to 3 eye drops will cover my entire face and neck.

2. Gentle enough to use morning and night and can be worn under makeup.

3. I don’t need to wear face powder anymore to work to brighten up my face. My face just has a natural glow that enhances my yellow undertones.

4. TruSkin Naturals has an entire line of beauty products to choose from including Vitamin C, Retinol, and Hyaluronic.

*MY TIP* – The decollete area (below) is one of the most overlooked parts of the body and also the most sensitive. Add a couple drops here and show your decollete some love!

Patience is a virtue. Unlike my Zinc bar, this is going to take a few weeks to kick in. But after 4-6 weeks you should see a noticeable difference.

aveeno eczema therapy

What I’m Lovin’

1. My skin was back to normal in about 5 days (hallelewyer!)

2. The cream is totally affordable! $11 people.

3. A little goes a long way. Start with just a dab to get good coverage.

*MY TIP* – I recommend using this cream right after you are done drying your face. This is when your pores are most open. BTW did you know over 30M Americans suffer from Eczema? You are not alone.

What I’m Lovin’…Not So Much

The cream is very thick and can appear shiny if not rubbed in well.

What is PMDD? It’s basically PMS on steroids. Every month like clockwork I would get chemically depressed. I would lose ambition, motivation, and think all kinds of crazy thoughts. Totally not normal. I started researching my symptoms and found dozens of forums addressing PMDD and remedies women have explored. I kept seeing ‘Primose’ come up again and again. Then I went to a nearby GNC to pick up a multivitamin to help fight the fatigue and after telling her my symptoms she confessed that she had PMDD and recommended Primrose! That was all the confirmation I needed!

What I’m Lovin’

1. The roller coaster of emotions is now gone. I still get PMS but it’s totally manageable.

2. After awhile I noticed my skin was looking better too!  That’s because this oil also fights acne, eczema, arthritis, and more. Find the list of benefits here.

3. There are plenty of online reviews for different brands of primrose so I know the benefits aren’t all in my head.  This is the brand I use.

*MY TIP* – I recommend taking this along with a daily women’s multivitamin. The overall combined effect on my physical and hormonal state of being has been a life changer. Also, you can’t skip a day so make it a part of your morning routine so you don’t forget.

What I’m Lovin’…Not So Much

The vitamins are large and they take about 1-2 cycles to kick in.

natural hair product

Part of transitioning is a transition in hair care products! I talked about some of the reasons why I decided to go natural but y’all I wasn’t ready for the big chop! Instead I opted for the #bigcut which means I’m cheating just a little bit. For the first couple of inches I was on easy street but inch 3, 4, and 5 have become more difficult to get through. Literally. After I wash and condition, I let my hair dry for about 10 minutes. Then I section my hair into four and add in about 1/2 a pump to each part. Then it’s time to go to work!

What I’m Lovin’

1. This lotion allows me to gracefully comb past the line of demarcation with minimal breakage.

2. A little goes  along way, I’ve had one bottle for almost a year.

3. Did I mention it’s all natural? No silicone baby. Buy it here.

*MY TIP* – Trying to untangle my hair when it’s too wet or too dry can cause breakage. So I recommend you detangle your hair when it’s semi wet instead. That’s when I get the easiest time.

What I’m Lovin’…Not So Much

Transitioning is tough and no matter how good is the product, you still need patience to get through combing your new mane.
